PLACEMENT!!!

I have spent the past few weeks checking my email at every chance just to see if I had received my placement for my upcoming year in service and today, it was finally there!  I found out that I will be spending the YAGM year in Montevideo, Uruguay.  Montevideo, a city of about 1.3 million people, is the capital city of Uruguay.  I was very excited to find this out because even though I was very open to my placement, a small part of me wanted to go to Uruguay.  Anyway, I will be working at a place called "La Obra", which is a community center on the outskirts of Montevideo run by an ecumenical group of churches, including the Lutheran church in Uruguay.  The center offers academic support, recreation and vocational education among other opportunities.  After my experiences working at the Boys & Girls Club of Beloit and volunteering at a school in the Dominican Republic, I am very excited for this opportunity!!!
