Finally Uruguay!!

Hello everyone!!! Quite a lot has happened since the last post because I am finally where I will be for the rest of the year.  I am currently writing this post in my room in Montevideo, Uruguay.  Two days ago (although it seems like a month ago) I took a ferry across the Rio de Plata and then a bus to finally reach Montevideo.  I am living in a student residence with students from all over Uruguay that are going to university in Montevideo.  There is also another volunteer from Germany living in the student residence that is also going to be living in Uruguay and working at the same community center that I will be.  The community center is centered in Barrio Borro, which is a neighborhood on the outskirts of Montevideo.  Today I visited the center to check things out.  Eventually I will have a more concrete role there but for the time being I get to float around in order to see how everything functions.  The center is a forty five minute bus ride from where I am living so my first purchase in Uruguay was a bus card.

Right now about a million things have been going through my mind because it has been a pretty eventful and stressful 48 hours.  However, I know that with time, things will start to seem a little bit more comfortable.  I haven't taken many pictures of where I am at yet but will try to upload some pictures in the next day or two.
